Kids’ plate: Meatballs and Mash

On the plate: Plain meatballs, smooth mash, soft carrot coins, sauce on the side.

Make it a game: Plant a meatball tree on the mash mountain and pick the 'fruit' off one by one.

Set it aside at step 4, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.

Why it works

  • Hashimoto's thyroiditis: The binder is gluten-free breadcrumbs and the sauce is built on gluten-free broth and sour cream.
  • Gluten-free: Gluten-free breadcrumbs and broth keep the whole skillet free of wheat.
  • Kid (4–12): Meatballs and mash to scoop and dunk, mild dill sauce on the side.
  • Toddler (1–3): Soft mash, tender carrots and small pieces of meatball, sauce for dipping.
