Kids’ plate: Mini lasagna

On the plate: A saucy noodle square with ricotta and melted mozzarella, basil left off.

Make it a game: Build a tower on the fork — see how many layers you can spot before the first bite.

Set it aside at step 5, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.

Why it works

  • Celiac disease: Gluten-free noodles under a sauce made from tomatoes, beef and cheese — nothing else in the pan has gluten.
  • Kid (4–12): Mild tomato-beef sauce and melty cheese in easy-to-lift noodle strips.

Celiac check: watch for hidden gluten in soy sauce, stock, malt vinegar and seasoning blends, and oats that aren’t certified. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
