Kids’ plate: Beef and rice bowls

On the plate: Sweet beef strips over plain rice with cucumber slices, sesame seeds left off.

Make it a game: Build a rice mountain and top it with beef strips — can they make the tallest one?

Set it aside at step 4, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.

Why it works

  • Celiac disease: Marinade is built on gluten-free tamari with pear, garlic and sesame oil, served over rice.
  • Kid (4–12): Mild, sweet beef over rice with cucumber slices; nothing spicy in the bowl.

Celiac check: watch for hidden gluten in soy sauce, stock, malt vinegar and seasoning blends, and oats that aren’t certified. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
