Kids’ plate: Pork coins and mash trees
On the plate: Sliced pork coins, smooth sweet potato mash, soft peas, the apple sauce spooned thin over the pork.
Make it a game: Plant the mash into little hills and stand the pork coins on top like a farm.
Set it aside at step 3, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.
Why it works
- Celiac disease: Naturally gluten-free: the sauce thickens from cider and apples, no flour or stock.
- Toddler (1–3): Soft mash, tiny pork coins and sweet peas, all mild and easy to pick up.
Celiac check: watch for hidden gluten in soy sauce, stock, malt vinegar and seasoning blends, and oats that aren’t certified. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
