Why it works

  • Celiac disease: Steak, rice and vegetables seasoned with garlic, ginger and lime instead of any bottled sauce.
  • Milk allergy: A dairy-free plate: searing in olive oil and finishing with lime and cilantro.
  • Hashimoto's thyroiditis: Fresh ginger, garlic and lime carry the flavour, with no soy or seaweed.
  • Fish allergy: Beef is the protein here; the pan sauce is citrus and herbs, not fish sauce.
  • Soy allergy: That stir-fry flavour comes from ginger, garlic and lime, no soy in the pan.

Celiac check: watch for hidden gluten in soy sauce, stock, malt vinegar and seasoning blends, and oats that aren’t certified. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
