Kids’ plate: Chicken noodle soup
On the plate: Rice noodles, tender chicken shreds, carrot and daikon in mild broth; herbs left off.
Make it a game: The noodles are little paths through a garden of soft vegetables. Find a path for each chicken shred at your own pace.
Set it aside at step 5, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.
Why it works
- Hashimoto's thyroiditis: Rice noodles, chicken, and fresh herbs; no soy, seaweed, or gluten-containing grains.
- Low-histamine: Freshly cooked chicken, carrots, daikon, ginger, and herbs; no citrus, vinegar, broth, or fermented sauce.
- Gluten-free: Gluten-free rice noodles and a broth made with water, chicken, and fresh vegetables.
- Pregnant: Chicken is cooked in the broth; the bowl has no raw ingredients, unpasteurised dairy, or alcohol.
- Toddler (1–3): Soft carrots and daikon with finely shredded chicken and short rice noodles.
- Kid (4–12): Mild broth, familiar chicken and noodles, with herbs left off the children's bowls.
