Kids’ plate: Fish boat dinner
On the plate: Flaked plain fish in zucchini boats, soft carrot sticks and avocado slices.
Make it a game: Half a zucchini becomes a little boat — load it with flaked fish and sail it to your mouth.
Set it aside at step 4, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.
Why it works
- Autoimmune protocol (AIP): No grains, dairy, eggs or nightshades: dill, garlic and lemon carry the flavour.
- Hashimoto's thyroiditis: Gluten-free and soy-free, with no seaweed: a simple oil-and-herb bake.
- Pregnant: Low-mercury white fish roasted in the oven, no raw fish or unpasteurised cheese.
- Toddler (1–3): Flaked fish and soft carrot sticks, easy to mash and pick up.
- Kid (4–12): Mild white fish with zucchini boats and avocado slices for building and dipping.
AIP check: watch for nightshade spices (paprika, chili, cayenne), seed spices (cumin, coriander seed), seed oils and hidden sugar. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
