Kids’ plate: Sweet Potato & Chicken Power
On the plate: Plain chicken strips, roasted sweet potato cubes, and steamed broccoli florets.
Make it a game: The sweet potato cubes are little golden treasures waiting to be found in the bowl.
Set it aside at step 3, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.
Why it works
- Autoimmune protocol (AIP): The flavors come from olive oil, fresh herbs, turmeric, and ginger, avoiding seeds and nightshades.
- Hashimoto's thyroiditis: No soy, kelp, or seeds are included; ingredients are simple proteins and fresh produce.
- Pregnant: The chicken thighs are thoroughly cooked until they meet the internal temperature requirement.
- Toddler (1–3): Soft sweet potato wedges and chicken strips to pick up and dip.
- Kid (4–12): A mild flavor profile keeps the meal enjoyable while offering good, familiar shapes.
AIP check: watch for nightshade spices (paprika, chili, cayenne), seed spices (cumin, coriander seed), seed oils and hidden sugar. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
