Kids’ plate: Crunchy Chicken Bites
On the plate: Cubed chicken pieces, a soft sweet potato cube, and steamed broccoli florets, the tangy glaze left off
Make it a game: Have the pieces look like tasty little boulders on a mountain of vegetables.
Set it aside at step 4, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.
Why it works
- Autoimmune protocol (AIP): The recipe relies on honey and lime juice for flavor since all grains, seeds, nuts, and nightshades are kept out.
- Hashimoto's thyroiditis: All known potential allergens and inflammatory triggers, such as soy, have been removed from the dish.
- Pregnant: The chicken is cooked fully at a high temperature for safety and uses pasteurised ingredients throughout.
AIP check: watch for nightshade spices (paprika, chili, cayenne), seed spices (cumin, coriander seed), seed oils and hidden sugar. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
