Kids’ plate: Chicken and Root Veggie Nuggets
On the plate: Small chicken portions, sweet potato cubes, and cauliflower florets, unseasoned.
Make it a game: Pretend the vegetables are little trees for the giant chicken.
Set it aside at step 3, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.
Why it works
- Autoimmune protocol (AIP): Uses olive oil, sweet potato, and herbs for flavoring without grains, dairy, or nightshades.
- Hashimoto's thyroiditis: The recipe is free of soy, kelp, and seaweed.
- Pregnant: The chicken is cooked in the oven until thoroughly heated through for safety.
- Toddler (1–3): Soft sweet potato wedges and chicken strips to pick up and dip.
- Kid (4–12): Simple roasted chicken pieces and colorful vegetables that are fun to pick up.
AIP check: watch for nightshade spices (paprika, chili, cayenne), seed spices (cumin, coriander seed), seed oils and hidden sugar. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
