Kids’ plate: Apple Pork Strips with Soft Carrots

On the plate: Thin pork strips, soft carrot coins and a few cooked apple pieces, before the vinegar goes on.

Make it a game: Build tiny pork-and-apple sandwiches with your fingers, then eat the tower in two bites.

Set it aside at step 4, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.

Why it works

  • Autoimmune protocol (AIP): Fruit, leeks and rosemary season the pork — no grains, dairy, eggs, nuts, seeds or nightshades.
  • Hashimoto's thyroiditis: Gluten-free and soy-free; leeks, apples and rosemary do all the flavour work.
  • Pregnant: Nothing raw, unpasteurised or alcoholic; the pork's cooking temperature is in the steps.
  • Toddler (1–3): Everything cut small and cooked soft, in a quarter-to-third portion.
  • Kid (4–12): Strips to pick up and stack, mild flavour, sweet apple wedges alongside.

AIP check: watch for nightshade spices (paprika, chili, cayenne), seed spices (cumin, coriander seed), seed oils and hidden sugar. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
