Kids’ plate: Nugget-Style Chicken Strips with Sweet Potato Wedges
On the plate: Plain roasted chicken strips and sweet potato wedges with a few soft broccoli florets, before the lemon-honey glaze.
Make it a game: Stack the chicken strips into a golden tower and count every brick as it goes up.
Set it aside at step 5, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.
Why it works
- Autoimmune protocol (AIP): Olive oil, turmeric and ginger build the flavour — no grains, dairy, eggs, nuts or seed spices.
- Hashimoto's thyroiditis: Gluten-free and soy-free throughout; turmeric, ginger and lemon carry the seasoning.
- Pregnant: Nothing raw, unpasteurised or alcoholic; the chicken's cooking temperature is in the steps.
- Toddler (1–3): Soft strips and wedges in a small portion, with sweet potato and avocado alongside.
- Kid (4–12): Nugget-style strips to dunk, mild lemon flavour, avocado on the side.
AIP check: watch for nightshade spices (paprika, chili, cayenne), seed spices (cumin, coriander seed), seed oils and hidden sugar. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
