Kids’ plate: Mini Thanksgiving Plate

On the plate: Plain turkey strips, parsnip-sweet potato mash, soft apple-leek stuffing and avocado slices.

Make it a game: Build a tiny Thanksgiving tower: a mash nest with turkey strips stacked on top. Count how many colours are on the plate.

Set it aside at step 5, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.

Why it works

  • Autoimmune protocol (AIP): Roast turkey with root mash and an apple-leek stuffing — no grains, dairy, eggs or nightshades, all cooked in olive oil.
  • Hashimoto's thyroiditis: Gluten-free throughout with no soy or seaweed; sage, rosemary and garlic do the seasoning.
  • Pregnant: Nothing here is raw, unpasteurised or alcoholic — just roasted turkey, root mash and fruit-sweetened vegetables.
  • Toddler (1–3): Soft mash, thin turkey strips and mild apple-leek stuffing to pick up, with avocado on the side.
  • Kid (4–12): Mild flavours with avocado slices on the side and a mash-stuffing nest to build with.

AIP check: watch for nightshade spices (paprika, chili, cayenne), seed spices (cumin, coriander seed), seed oils and hidden sugar. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
