Kids’ plate: Little Holiday Plates

On the plate: Plain turkey strips and soft sweet potato stuffing pieces, with sliced avocado on the side.

Make it a game: Build a tiny holiday tower: a stuffing piece, a turkey strip, repeat. Can they stack three?

Set it aside at step 4, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.

Why it works

  • Autoimmune protocol (AIP): No grains, dairy, eggs or pepper: the stuffing is sweet potato and cassava, bound with olive oil and fresh herbs.
  • Hashimoto's thyroiditis: Gluten-free throughout, with no soy or seaweed: the pan sauce thickens with arrowroot from the pan juices.
  • Pregnant: Nothing in it is raw, unpasteurised or alcoholic; the turkey is oven-roasted with herbs and pan juices.
  • Toddler (1–3): Soft sweet potato pieces and mild turkey strips, easy to pick up with a side of avocado.

AIP check: watch for nightshade spices (paprika, chili, cayenne), seed spices (cumin, coriander seed), seed oils and hidden sugar. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
