Kids’ plate: Chicken Nugget-Style Strips

On the plate: Plain chicken strips and soft sweet potato wedges with zucchini pieces.

Make it a game: Make a little garden path with the sweet potato and zucchini. Dip a chicken strip along the path whenever you like.

Set it aside at step 5, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.

Why it works

  • Autoimmune protocol (AIP): Chicken, sweet potato, zucchini, olive oil and fresh herbs; no grains, dairy, legumes or nightshades.
  • Hashimoto's thyroiditis: No gluten-containing grains, soy, seaweed or kelp; the tray is seasoned with herbs, garlic and lemon zest.
  • Pregnant: Chicken is cooked to 165°F/74°C; nothing in the dish is raw, unpasteurised or alcoholic.
  • Toddler (1–3): Soft sweet potato and zucchini with short, thin chicken strips make an easy-to-pick-up plate.
  • Kid (4–12): Mild chicken strips, familiar roasted sweet potato and zucchini, with avocado on the side.

AIP check: watch for nightshade spices (paprika, chili, cayenne), seed spices (cumin, coriander seed), seed oils and hidden sugar. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
