Kids’ plate: Mash mountain bowls
On the plate: A scoop of beef crumbled small, sweet potato mash and soft carrot, served before baking.
Make it a game: Build a little mountain of mash with a beef valley and take bites down the slope.
Set it aside at step 4, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.
Why it works
- Autoimmune protocol (AIP): Beef and vegetables under a sweet potato mash bound with olive oil — no grains, dairy or eggs.
- Hashimoto's thyroiditis: No soy, seaweed or gluten; rosemary and garlic carry the flavour instead of sauces.
- Pregnant: Nothing raw, unpasteurised or alcoholic; the beef browns through in the pan before baking.
- Toddler (1–3): Spoonable sweet potato mash and finely crumbled beef.
- Kid (4–12): Layers of mash and beef to stack and eat with a fork.
AIP check: watch for nightshade spices (paprika, chili, cayenne), seed spices (cumin, coriander seed), seed oils and hidden sugar. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
