Kids’ plate: Turkey meatball dippers
On the plate: Plain turkey meatballs, soft roasted carrots and avocado slices, the lemon left off.
Make it a game: Park each meatball in an avocado car before it takes a bite-sized trip.
Set it aside at step 3, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.
Why it works
- Autoimmune protocol (AIP): Turkey meatballs bound with tapioca flour — no grains, eggs, dairy or nuts in the pan.
- Hashimoto's thyroiditis: No soy, seaweed or gluten; lemon, dill and garlic season the whole pan.
- Pregnant: Nothing raw, unpasteurised or alcoholic; the turkey bakes through in the oven.
- Toddler (1–3): Soft quartered meatballs and sweet carrot sticks to pick up.
- Kid (4–12): Nugget-shaped meatballs with avocado made for dunking.
AIP check: watch for nightshade spices (paprika, chili, cayenne), seed spices (cumin, coriander seed), seed oils and hidden sugar. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
