Kids’ plate: Mini beef empanadas
On the plate: Two plain mini empanadas with mild beef filling, cut into wedges, plus cucumber sticks.
Make it a game: Each empanada has a fork-crimped edge — count the crimp mountains together before the first bite.
Set it aside at step 5, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.
Why it works
- Celiac disease: The pastry is a gluten-free flour blend and the broth is gluten-free, so every crimped edge is on the table.
- Kid (4–12): Mild, spoonable beef filling in a hand-held pastry, with cucumber sticks alongside.
Celiac check: watch for hidden gluten in soy sauce, stock, malt vinegar and seasoning blends, and oats that aren’t certified. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
