Kids’ plate: Nacho plate

On the plate: Corn tortilla chips with plain beef, black beans and melted cheddar, lime wedge on the side.

Make it a game: Build little towers of chips, beef and cheese and see how tall they go before the big bite.

Set it aside at step 4, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.

Why it works

  • Celiac disease: Corn tortilla chips and everything else here is gluten-free, with nothing hidden in the seasoning.
  • Kid (4–12): Mild beef and beans with melty cheddar over chips, easy to pick up by hand.

Celiac check: watch for hidden gluten in soy sauce, stock, malt vinegar and seasoning blends, and oats that aren’t certified. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
