Kids’ plate: Mini pizza faces
On the plate: Two cheesy muffin pizzas with pepperoni and olives arranged like a face, extra olives set aside to add as freckles.
Make it a game: Make a smiley face with the pepperoni, then give the pizza freckles and eyebrows with the olive slices before the first bite.
Set it aside at step 4, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.
Why it works
- Celiac disease: Gluten-free muffins and pizza sauce keep every bite gluten-free without changing the fun.
Celiac check: watch for hidden gluten in soy sauce, stock, malt vinegar and seasoning blends, and oats that aren’t certified. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
