Why it works

  • PCOS: Protein and fibre lead here: quinoa and shrimp with non-starchy broccoli instead of refined starch.
  • Gluten-free: No wheat anywhere: quinoa takes the place of pasta, and the stock is gluten-free.
  • Anti-inflammatory: Shrimp and broccoli cooked in olive oil with garlic, lemon and herbs, nothing fried or sugary.
  • Hashimoto's thyroiditis: Strictly gluten-free and soy-free: the sauce is just olive oil, garlic, lemon and parsley.
  • No spicy food: Gentle seasoning only: garlic, lemon, parsley and salt, no chili or hot spice.
  • Picky eater: Familiar, simple parts: plain quinoa, roasted broccoli and tender shrimp in a mild lemon sauce.

Celiac check: watch for hidden gluten in soy sauce, stock, malt vinegar and seasoning blends, and oats that aren’t certified. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
