Kids’ plate: Turkey Nugget Patties
On the plate: Small plain turkey patties with soft broccoli florets and tender carrot mixed into each patty.
Make it a game: Pretend the broccoli florets are little trees beside the turkey patties. Choose which tree each patty visits.
Set it aside at step 5, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.
Why it works
- Autoimmune protocol (AIP): Turkey, carrots, broccoli, olive oil and fresh herbs; no grains, dairy, legumes or nightshades.
- Hashimoto's thyroiditis: No gluten-containing grains, soy, seaweed or kelp; fresh sage, parsley and garlic season the patties.
- Pregnant: Turkey patties are cooked to 165°F/74°C; nothing in the dish is raw, unpasteurised or alcoholic.
- Toddler (1–3): Small soft patty pieces with tender broccoli and finely grated carrot suit a little plate.
- Kid (4–12): Familiar small turkey patties come with mild broccoli and grated carrot mixed into the patties.
AIP check: watch for nightshade spices (paprika, chili, cayenne), seed spices (cumin, coriander seed), seed oils and hidden sugar. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
