Kids’ plate: Golden pan-fried dumplings
On the plate: A few plain pan-fried dumplings, halved, with cucumber sticks on the side (3 or 4 sticks).
Make it a game: Dumpling dip day: each half gets a tiny dunk before the big bite.
Set it aside at step 5, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.
Why it works
- Celiac disease: The wrappers are rice and tapioca flour, and the dip is made with gluten-free tamari.
- Kid (4–12): Mild pork-and-chive filling, dumplings cut in half and a sauce cup for dunking.
Celiac check: watch for hidden gluten in soy sauce, stock, malt vinegar and seasoning blends, and oats that aren’t certified. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
