Kids’ plate: Egg fried rice
On the plate: A scoop of plain egg fried rice with peas and carrots, mild and unsauced.
Make it a game: Treasure hunt: hunt through the rice for the golden egg bits and hide them under a pea blanket.
Set it aside at step 4, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.
Why it works
- Celiac disease: The only sauce is certified gluten-free tamari, so there is no wheat, soy sauce or stock hiding anywhere.
- Kid (4–12): Mild, familiar fried rice with sweet carrots and peas; the grown-up sauce never touches the kids' share.
Celiac check: watch for hidden gluten in soy sauce, stock, malt vinegar and seasoning blends, and oats that aren’t certified. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
