Kids’ plate: Pizza bagels

On the plate: Two cheese bagel halves cut into wedges, with a little bowl of warm marinara for dipping.

Make it a game: Build a pizza face: the sauce is the smile, and basil leaves or cheese become eyes and freckles.

Set it aside at step 3, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.

Why it works

  • Celiac disease: Gluten-free bagels and marinara, brushed with olive oil and baked open-faced.
  • Kid (4–12): Cheesy mini pizzas with mild marinara, baked until soft and melty for small hands.

Celiac check: watch for hidden gluten in soy sauce, stock, malt vinegar and seasoning blends, and oats that aren’t certified. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
