Kids’ plate: Mild chicken noodle twirls

On the plate: Mild chicken noodles with soft pepper strips, the basil left off

Make it a game: Twirl long noodle snake around the fork and see how big the twirl gets.

Set it aside at step 5, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.

Why it works

  • Celiac disease: Rice noodles with gluten-free tamari and fish sauce carry the salty, savoury sauce.
  • Kid (4–12): Sweet peppers and tender chicken keep the heat out, with lime and basil for brightness.

Celiac check: watch for hidden gluten in soy sauce, stock, malt vinegar and seasoning blends, and oats that aren’t certified. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
