Kids’ plate: Turkey Meatballs and Zucchini Noodles
On the plate: Plain turkey meatballs with soft zucchini noodles, herbs kept off the side.
Make it a game: Make a little noodle nest for each meatball, or let the meatballs roll around the plate. Pick a noodle to be a tiny green ribbon.
Set it aside at step 4, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.
Why it works
- Hashimoto's thyroiditis: Gluten-free oats bind the turkey meatballs; no soy, seaweed or kelp.
- Low-histamine: Fresh turkey, zucchini and fresh herbs bring the flavor; no vinegar, citrus, aged cheese or stock.
- Gluten-free: Certified gluten-free oats bind the meatballs; no wheat, barley, rye or regular oats.
- Anti-inflammatory: Lean turkey, zucchini, herbs and olive oil make the skillet; no added sugar.
- Pregnant: Turkey is the protein, with no unpasteurised dairy, raw ingredients or alcohol.
- Toddler (1–3): Soft zucchini noodles and small, thin meatball pieces make a gentle little plate.
- Kid (4–12): Mild turkey meatballs and familiar zucchini noodles keep the plate simple.
Celiac check: watch for hidden gluten in soy sauce, stock, malt vinegar and seasoning blends, and oats that aren’t certified. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
