Kids’ plate: Chicken fajita roll-ups
On the plate: Plain chicken strips, a warm corn tortilla, avocado slices and a few soft pepper strips on the side.
Make it a game: Roll up the tortilla like a little sleeping bag for the chicken, then take a big bite of the burrito they made.
Set it aside at step 4, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.
Why it works
- Celiac disease: Corn tortillas and a spice mix built from scratch, so nothing hidden and no wheat at the table.
- Kid (4–12): Mild spice and build-your-own roll-ups, with lime and cilantro added at the table for the grown-ups.
Celiac check: watch for hidden gluten in soy sauce, stock, malt vinegar and seasoning blends, and oats that aren’t certified. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
