Kids’ plate: Teriyaki chicken strips
On the plate: Glazed chicken strips over rice with cucumber ribbons, cut into bite-size pieces.
Make it a game: Stack the chicken strips into a little tower before each bite — how tall can it grow?
Set it aside at step 4, before the grown-ups’ sauce or spice goes on.
Why it works
- Celiac disease: The teriyaki sauce is made from scratch with gluten-free tamari, so there is no hidden wheat in the glaze.
- Kid (4–12): Mild sweet glaze and plain rice, with the chili kept to one grown-up plate.
Celiac check: watch for hidden gluten in soy sauce, stock, malt vinegar and seasoning blends, and oats that aren’t certified. Gluten gives food ideas, not medical advice: always check labels for allergens and cross-contact.
